Ryan believes that having someone to help navigate and understand life’s adversities with you can be just what you need to get unstuck. He approaches counseling collaboratively, with you as the expert of your own life, to address any barriers preventing you from living the life you want to live.

Ryan is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (11818), Certified Clinical Trauma Provider, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and Nationally Certified Counselor (628036) in the Downtown Raleigh office. He earned his undergraduate degree at James Madison University and his Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University.

Ryan’s style is integrative and flexible while using a variety of evidence-based modalities, including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). His particular areas of clinical training and experience are trauma (including attachment), eating concerns, mood and anxiety disorders, and existential processing.

When Ryan is not working, he enjoys spending time with his partner and three pets (Murphy, Birdie, and Phoebe), reading, or playing video games. He also enjoys finding new restaurants to try with friends and family and is always open to recommendations!
