Caroline Garrett (she/her), MSW, LCSWA

Outpatient Psychotherapist in Chapel Hill

Works with ages 13-35

Hello! My name is Caroline Garrett (she/her) and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health and Wellness. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill, and received Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Meredith College in Raleigh. Prior to working as a therapist, I worked as a person-centered planner and service navigator with clients receiving developmental disability services in California, helping them determine their hopes and dreams and connecting them to services that matched their wants and needs.

I proudly identify as neurodivergent, and seek to connect with clients as my authentic self. I have extensive experience with the autistic and ADHD communities and specialize in working with teens and young adults who are exploring or adjusting to a neurodivergent identity and what that means for them, as well as helping clients address concerns such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I am also LGBTQIA-affirming.

I utilize a person-centered, eclectic approach in sessions with clients, pulling from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I believe that therapy is your space and time to learn, grow, and heal, and I strive to work together to figure out what approach and focus works best for you. I can also adapt sessions for accommodation needs such as intellectual disability, executive dysfunction, sensory processing, demand avoidance, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). I see clients in-person in Chapel Hill or via telehealth.

Outside of work, I love reading, getting creative, cuddling my pets, and spending time with horses and farm animals. I look forward to connecting with you and working together on your journey towards authenticity and healing.
