Ally (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (11810) in the state of North Carolina, a Nationally Certified Counselor (630327), and an Outpatient Psychotherapist in Downtown Raleigh. She earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology & Communication Studies (2012, 2006) and holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2015) from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ally is passionate about the growth and change that occurs when people enter a nurturing therapeutic space. She strives to maintain a positive, realistic and non-judgmental approach to therapy. Ally works primarily with adolescents & adults of all races, creeds, abilities, sexual orientations and gender identities.

Ally’s clinical interests and aptitudes include traumatic bereavement and grief, attachment trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, existential issues, and difficulties with emotion regulation. She uses an eclectic approach to treatment and draws from various research-supported modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Ally is a classically trained ballet and modern dancer and believes that awareness of emotions in the body plays an integral role in understanding and managing them effectively. She often incorporates creative interventions and art therapy based on client needs and desires. Therapy sessions with Ally are highly experiential, and typically engage clients in a balance of traditional talk-therapy and skill-building. In her spare time, Ally likes to write poetry and play video games.
