Amy Rupert, MHA, MSW, LCSWA
Outpatient Psychotherapist in Southern Village
Amy (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (P017632) and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at the Southern Village office. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 2002 from Ohio University, and her Master of Healthcare Administration in 2011 from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Inspired by personal and professional experiences, Amy realized she has a passion for helping people who are facing life challenges. She returned to UNC Chapel Hill to earn her Master of Social Work in 2022.
Amy believes that coping with transitions and events– such as death, illness, job changes, college, parenthood, relationship changes, or work-related stress– can strain connections and life satisfaction. Through interpersonal psychotherapy, Amy creates a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space for people to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors related to these changes. Drawing from a variety of evidence-based treatment models, including psychodynamic (insight oriented), cognitive behavioral (skills development), and mindfulness, she collaborates with individuals to create personalized goals.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys doing yoga, listening to music, reading novels, and spending time with her twin boys and spouse.
