Carolyn (they/them) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (C015253) and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Chapel Hill. They received their undergraduate degree in English and Women’s and Gender Studies at UNC Chapel Hill and their Master of Social Work degree at UNC Chapel Hill.

Carolyn believes that the client is the expert in their own experience, and walks alongside clients to make sure they feel supported, accepted and heard at each step in the therapeutic process. Carolyn believes in the power of asking for help and feels deeply honored to work with clients in spaces of vulnerability.

Carolyn uses a person-centered approach and pulls from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Carolyn is especially passionate about working with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship issues and childhood trauma.

Carolyn is LGBTQIA+ affirming and works with clients ages 16 and up. Carolyn works with people of all identities and spiritual or religious affiliations and is committed to anti-racist practice.
