Chris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® (SEP), an Outpatient Psychotherapist, and Clinical Director with Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness at the Durham location. Chris holds two Masters degrees: a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Divinity (MDIV) from Duke University. Chris specializes in Structural Dissociation work; Somatic Experiencing®; and Somatic & Attachment-focused (S.A.F.E.) EMDR; providing assistance and support to individuals who have experienced various types of trauma and crises.

Individuals who could potentially benefit from his style of work are those who long to have a more affirming and validating relationship to their bodies; persons who desire to process trauma on a somatic, or body-oriented level; and individuals who struggle with chronic disconnection to themselves and others.

Chris is committed to social justice and equality & is proud to work closely with all members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) community. Additionally, he is trained to provide enhanced Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), & Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).
