Cicely Maynard (she/her), LCMHC-QS

Cicely is scheduling clients virtually via telehealth.

Works with ages 21-65

Cicely is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Qualified Supervisor (License #12412,QS-139693). She earned her Bachelor of Science in English Education from Florida State University and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Wake Forest University.

Cicely is passionate about creating a safe, kind, collaborative and judgment-free space where clients can attain new insights, experience new feelings, and find a renewed sense of physical and mental well-being. With over 10 years of professional counseling experience, she enjoys working with adults struggling with childhood trauma and trauma-related symptoms such as grief, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relational conflict. As a prior teacher in the public education system, Cicely has insight into the difficulties we all have faced that shape our experience. She believes that  every person is unique and deserves to be listened to and understood in an empathetic way.

Cicely draws from Psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, and Solution-Focused therapy. She believe that past experiences and traumas dating back to childhood strongly influence the way we feel about ourselves and others. Cicely will prompt you to explore your past and listen to repeating negative patterns.

Cicely believes that maladaptive or irrational thoughts strongly influence how we feel and behave. By exploring and challenging these thoughts, the goal would be for you to overcome symptoms of depression and anxiety and begin to lead a life in which you feel more connected to yourself, others and the world. Navigating life's challenges is never easy, but reaching out for help is a brave first step to living a more genuine and fulfilling life. Please reach out if you feel as though Cicely may be a good fit!
