Emily (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA-P014740), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-26517), and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in Psychology and Sociology, and returned to UNC to earn her Master of Social Work degree, officially making her a “Double Tar Heel!”
Emily takes a person-centered, strengths-based approach with her clients. She believes that therapy is truly a partnership and you are the expert on your own life. It is her aim to create a safe, nonjudgemental space for clients to process their thoughts and experiences, while utilizing their inner strengths and developing healthy coping skills. Emily uses an eclectic approach, pulling from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness.
Emily is LGBTQIA+ affirming and works with folks from all backgrounds. She is especially passionate about working with older teens and young adults who are working through anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, identity exploration, life transitions, and general life stressors.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys hiking, spending time with loved ones, and snuggling with her furry family of two cats and a dog. She looks forward to working with you to help you create a meaningful and fulfilling life.
