Emily (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA-P014740), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-26517), and Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in Psychology and Sociology and returned to UNC to earn her Master of Social Work degree, officially making her a “Double Tar Heel!” Emily is LGBTQIA+ affirming and works with folks from all backgrounds. She is especially passionate about supporting older teens and young adults working through OCD, anxiety, depression, substance use, identity exploration, life transitions, and general life stressors.

Emily takes a person-centered, strengths-based approach with clients. She believes therapy is truly a partnership and you are the expert on your own life. It is her aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to process thoughts, feelings, and experiences, while utilizing your inner strengths and developing healthy coping skills. Emily will support you in finding your personalized path to healing and building a meaningful, fulfilling life. Emily uses an eclectic approach, pulling from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), basic Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness. For individuals seeking OCD treatment, Emily utilizes ERP, which is the gold standard for OCD treatment, blended with ACT and MI. She will provide you with more information about OCD treatment as you begin your work together, but feel free to reach out to her directly if you have questions or concerns.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys hiking, spending time with loved ones, snuggling with her furry family of two cats and a dog, and watching “just one more episode” on Netflix. She looks forward to connecting with you and being a part of your journey!
