Laura Wooten, MSW, LCSW, LCASA
Outpatient Psychotherapist in Chapel Hill
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Chapel Hill. I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Campbell University and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from UNC Chapel Hill.
Therapy is a collaborative process where together we identify areas for personal growth and develop skills that can support you in finding balance & reaching your goals. Whether you are experiencing anxiety or nervousness, feeling sad or depressed, navigating relationship concerns, managing anger or other intense emotions, needing support with life transitions such as college or graduate school or new parenthood, or working through traumatic events, I would love to partner with you on this journey.
My style is warm and eclectic. I draw from a variety of evidenced-based models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to address your concerns and distressing symptoms. I am also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) and enjoy integrating aspects of yoga including mindfulness & a mind/body approach into therapy where appropriate.
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcoming of clients of all cultural, racial and religious backgrounds. I enjoy working with teens (16+) through adults.
