Leah (she/her) is an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Downtown Raleigh. She earned her undergraduate degree at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Psychology, and her Master of Social Work at North Carolina State University. Leah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (P017635) and is passionate about working with women and couples dealing with infertility/difficulty with family building, helping couples recover from a rupture in the relationship, or rediscovering the connection that once was. Leah also enjoys working with individuals who are interested in exploring how early family dynamics have shaped their interactions with the world in their adulthood.
Leah’s work is informed by attachment theory and integrates a variety of evidence-based models including: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness Practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Leah views psychotherapy as an art and a collaboration between the client and the therapist. Leah uses a person-centered, holistic approach and believes that mental health encompasses much more than just our emotional well-being. She understands that our physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being all intersect to inform our overall mental health. Leah encourages clients to bring topics related to all of these facets to therapy for discussion & exploration. Leah is LGBTQIA+ affirming and works with adults ages 18 and older.
In her free time, Leah enjoys spending time with her partner, friends, and family, going out to dinner, spending time in the sun, or just relaxing and watching a movie. Leah also loves to spend time at home with her cat, Jasper, and her dog, Winnie.
