Leslie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Director, and Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Durham. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Science degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland.
Leslie is trained to work with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families. Her areas of expertise include trauma, marital conflict, parent-child relationships, self-esteem, depression, and anxiety. Leslie provides Discernment Counseling for couples considering divorce. She is also a trained facilitator for the Prepare/Enrich program for premarital counseling.
Leslie’s approach to therapy aims at helping you, your relationship, and your family thrive. To help you reach your goals, she will collaborate with you using Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Experiential models of therapy, as well as play therapy for children. Leslie is committed to creating a safe and validating environment to work together at overcoming obstacles and trying new solutions.
You can expect to begin with an assessment period while Leslie evaluates your needs and works with you to create a positive therapeutic relationship. She will then guide you to understand your concerns, accept difficult challenges, and provide gentle direction for managing and growing from those challenges.
