Marie Mills is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (C012304) and Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health and Wellness. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech and her Master of Social Work from NC State University. Her passion is centered in working with people across the lifespan overcome life’s struggles. She has a particular interest in working with infants and their parents, children, adolescents, and adults to break cycles of intergenerational trauma, and can’t wait to join you on your path to wellness!

For nearly the past decade, Marie has had the privilege of working with diverse individuals and families, including families navigating the reunification process, children/adolescents in the acute hospital and PRTF settings, and people impacted by trauma in the outpatient therapy setting. Marie has experience in working with people of all ages as they navigate symptoms of anxiety, depression, complex/chronic trauma, developmental trauma, parenting stressors, interpersonal relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and other mental health stressors. Her clinical specialties include Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These specialties have allowed her the opportunity to help guide individuals and families towards finding their strength and resilience in moments of struggle and maintaining these skills as they face new challenges. She is dedicated to being part of the transformative process of helping people find a new level of personal empowerment and a sense of agency.

In her personal time, Marie loves traveling with her family and experiencing other people, cultures, and food! She tries to seize every opportunity to explore the world and connect with nature whether that is going hiking/backpacking, sipping coffee on her back porch, or getting outside to read a good book. There is so much to be gained through connecting with other people and exploring perspectives together. Marie looks forward to connecting with you and being a part of your wellness journey!
