I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (A15467), a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS-26102), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Durham. I earned a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Radford University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and focuses on the collaborative therapeutic relationship. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and I am dedicated to partnering with you in your journey of recovery from a strengths-based approach. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental counseling environment and pull from my training in Music Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, creative/expressive arts interventions, and mindfulness. I have extensive experience supporting those with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges in all phases of recovery. I also have personal and professional experience in the treatment of chronic pain and pain management.
I am passionate about working with underserved communities and I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I invite all people to join me on the path to wellness.
When not at Three Oaks, you can find me with a book in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other or on a local hiking trail listening to Irish Punk.
