Sharon McGee (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina at Columbia. Sharon obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University. Her areas of expertise include working with adolescents and adults presenting with a range of emotions and diagnosis. She has experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship & family dynamics. Sharon specializes in working with women who have a history of struggling in their relationships and/or work - life balance issues. She enjoys helping women learn to cope with their problems more effectively and find more peace & joy in their lives.
Sharon utilizes a variety of evidenced-based therapies to assist clients in improving their quality of life including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Theory and Family Centered Treatment (FCT), Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (SAFE EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Sharon believes each client has their own unique experience. She feels it is important that each person has an emotionally safe environment built on a foundation of trust and empathy to share their experiences and begin a process of healing.
Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She likes reading, watching movies, and traveling to her favorite cities of New Orleans and Charleston. Sharon also likes spending time with her dogs Gunner and Finn.
