Tim Wooten, LCMHC, LCASA, NCC
Site Supervisor of North Durham
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (25834), a National Certified Counselor, Site Supervisor and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in North Durham. As a counselor, I work from a person-centered approach to therapy, partnering with you to meet you where you are, leverage individual strengths, and identify areas of growth and resilience.
I enjoy working with people experiencing anxiety and panic disorders as well as depressive disorders. If you experience feelings of dread, difficulty sleeping, worries about health, your loved ones or yourself, lack of motivation, or loss of interest in activities, therapy can be a place to process these concerns and develop ways to ease your symptoms. Prior to my work as a counselor, I spent over ten years working in corporate finance and accounting, and understand the unique pressures associated with high-pressure careers, managing work-life balance, as well as career changes and transitions.
I offer a relaxed, non-judgmental approach to therapy sessions, using an eclectic mix of therapy modalities and techniques based on person-centered and cognitive behavioral approaches. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Grief Counseling, and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy for Schizophrenia and Serious Mental Health Conditions. I also incorporate mindfulness to help you become more aware and develop acceptance of the present moment. I hold an additional license as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate, and am available to treat substance use or co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. I believe you are the expert in your own treatment, and I am dedicated to partnering alongside you in your well-being.
