Abigail (Abbey) Riddick (she/her), LCSWA

Outpatient Therapist in South Durham

Welcome - I’m so glad you want to explore therapy and grateful that you landed here.

I’m here to meet you where you are and support you moving forward, as you are ready. I’m passionate about holding space for people who want to find ways to live fully by their own values, who may be grieving the loss of a loved one, processing how past experiences have shaped their present lives, or going through big changes and life transitions. In therapy, I like to explore with clients how their emotional, behavioral and physical selves are interrelated.

In my therapy approach, I’m learning how to apply mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and somatic experiencing methods. I bring knowledge and skills from my coursework at UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work, where I focused on problematic substance use and addictions. I’m also a queer therapist and enjoy working within the LGBTQIA community. My practice is committed to anti-racist and anti-ableist values, and grounded in an understanding that our experiences are shaped by relationships, environments and broader systems.

When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll likely find me cooking, hiking, catching up on a good book, or practicing French.

If you think we could be a good fit, please reach out. I look forward to connecting with you!
