Works with ages 18+
Welcome! My name is Caitlin (she/her) and I am an Outpatient Psychotherapist in South Durham. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - LCSW (C012329) with a B.A. in Sociology & French from Drew University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from North Carolina State University.
I like to create a safe environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, drawing on a strengths-based perspective in my work. I enjoy working with clients facing transitions, challenges, and change including: relationships, new parenthood, undergraduate/graduate school, new jobs, relocation, family of origin dynamics, and loss. I value meeting clients where they are, accepting and listening without judgment. I am especially committed to supporting women in early adulthood to adulthood who are experiencing low self-worth, anxiety or relationship issues, and who desire more meaning and grounding in their lives. I am LGBTQIA+ allied and approach my work with empathy and kindness. I meet my clients with unconditional positive regard supporting them in finding their own path toward healing and connection. Beginning the therapeutic journey can take a lot of strength and courage and I am dedicated to collaborating with clients through every step.
My therapeutic approach draws from person-centered therapy, experiential therapies, and systems approaches. I utilize evidence-based treatment models including: Constructed Awareness, Internal Family Systems (IFS)/Parts Work, Psychodynamic Therapy, Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy, basic DBT Skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness.
Outside of my therapy practice, I enjoy taking in the natural world, baking, singing, reading rom-coms, and spending time with family and friends.
