Caroline Crumpler (she/her), LCMHCA, LCASA, NCC

Outpatient Psychotherapist at Midtown Raleigh

We all develop ways of coping with life’s challenges. Sometimes, the very strategies that once helped us survive can become the things that keep us feeling stuck.

Growing up with a hearing impairment gave me an early appreciation for how our experiences shape our confidence, relationships, and sense of self. It taught me the importance of feeling seen and understood—and how that can change the way we see ourselves. This perspective continues to guide my work and my belief that therapy should be a place where you feel accepted without judgment while also being supported and challenged to grow.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University before completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at North Carolina Central University. I hold dual credentials as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA) and graduated summa cum laude from each of my academic programs. My clinical experience includes inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings, working with individuals across a range of mental health and substance use concerns.

I enjoy working with students and adults across the lifespan navigating anxiety, depression, performance concerns, grief and loss, self-esteem, adjustment to chronic illness, life transitions, relationship challenges, and co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns.

My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and holistic. I draw from Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, ACT, and DBT, tailoring treatment to each person’s needs and goals. I believe mental and physical health are deeply interconnected, and that meaningful change comes from caring for the whole person. Together, we can explore the relationships, habits, values, and circumstances that influence your well-being while developing practical strategies for lasting growth. For clients who desire it, I thoughtfully integrate faith and spirituality in a way that honors their values and goals.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy walking and hiking, spending time with my cats, working out, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and finding unique treasures at estate sales and thrift stores. I value curiosity, lifelong learning, and finding joy in everyday experiences.

I am continually inspired by the resilience and individuality of the people I meet. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they better understand themselves, discover their strengths, and create meaningful change.
