Outpatient Psychotherapist in Downtown Raleigh

Hello! I’m Crissy Schmieder and thrilled to be a part of the Three Oaks team as a clinician. I’m truly honored with the opportunity to walk alongside each client on their path to healing and growth.
I earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Campbell University and my Master’s in Social Work from North Carolina State University. I’m dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS). These foundations—combined with decades of experience working with diverse populations—have shaped my holistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy.
I use a variety of trauma-focused approaches to support meaningful and lasting healing, including: CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), mindfulness & somatic (body-based) strategies, and self-compassion & relational healing.
I work with both children and adults, and also support school-age children (7–12) and their families navigating Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB). I know this can be a scary and confusing issue for caregivers. I approach it with care and non-judgment, helping children understand healthy boundaries, develop emotional regulation, and process underlying factors—often including trauma. I also work closely with families to create safety, structure, and stronger connections at home.
I believe in the power of safety, empathy, and compassionate support to help people grow. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’d be honored to support you along the way!
In my free time, I’m usually spending time with my family, curled up with a good book, or enjoying the company of my two very spoiled poodles, which often means taking a good nap!
