Dylan Hines (they & he), MEd, LCMHC
Outpatient Psychotherapist in North Durham
Currently works with clients ages 18+
Hi there! My name is Dylan, and I am a mental health counselor in Three Oaks’ North Durham office. I earned my M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University and have been with the practice since May of 2023.
I am committed to providing a safe and affirming counseling space where you can be your most authentic self without shame or judgment. My approach as a therapist is relational, person-centered, and grounded primarily in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on psychological flexibility and living in line with your personal values. My aim is to empower my clients, to encourage self-compassion and positive change, and to celebrate all aspects of their identities. I invite each person I work with to show up exactly as they are and to act as collaborators in their counseling experiences.
I am especially passionate about supporting members of the queer (LGBTQ+) community and neurodivergent folks through mental health care. I enjoy working alongside clients as they explore identities and values; manage anxiety, depression, and daily stressors; navigate life transitions; develop relationships and find community; and work towards their goals of living a more fulfilling life.
Outside of counseling, I love listening to music (e.g., Florence + the Machine, Carly Rae Jepsen among so many others), playing video games, and spending time with my two cats, Sora and Roxas.
If you have any questions about my availability, how we might work together, or anything else, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to connecting with you and working with you soon!
