Jaclyn Evans (she/her), Clinical Intern

Clinical Intern, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Winthrop University in 2017. I am currently under supervision as a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Over the last eight years, my training has been community-services focused. My commitment to staying up to date with the latest therapeutic techniques and advancements in the field ensures that I provide you with the highest quality of care. I have had the privilege of working with infant and youth adolescent populations who require support with developmental and behavioral challenges. My experience began as an Early Intervention Specialist and a youth mentor and coach in programs focused on building boundaries, empowerment, and fostering healthy connections between mental and physical health in adolescents. Over the last five years, I have supported youth involved in the foster care, adoption, and juvenile justice systems helping them navigate challenges and strive toward positive outcomes. Healthy family systems are important to me so I enjoy helping support the guidance of family desired outcomes. This includes my desire to support couples as well. I find particular fulfillment in working with adolescents who face behavioral concerns at home and in educational settings, young adults navigating relationships and life transitions, and adults seeking support during transitional phases or in maintaining mental wellness for themselves and within relationships. My counseling approach is solution-focused and person-centered, grounded in the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
