Madison Brantley (she/they), LCMHC

Outpatient Psychotherapist in South Durham

Welcome! My name is Madison (she/they) and I am an Outpatient Therapist at Three Oaks' South Durham location. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC #19022) in North Carolina and earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. Outside the counseling space, you’ll find me at home with my partner and our four cats, creating art, watching comfort tv, or hammocking by a lake.

With four years of experience guiding children, adolescents, and adults, I address a wide range of presentations, most notably anxiety disorders, OCD, body focused repetitive behaviors, depression, neurodivergence, identity exploration, body image / eating concerns, and trauma. My modalities are person centered, trauma informed, and most often pull from behavioral and humanistic backgrounds, including Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. With children, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, creativity, play, and positive reinforcement parent training.

My clinical work is inherently tied to social justice work. Utilizing relational and multi-cultural feminist counseling approaches, I assist clients in dismantling internalized systems like capitalism, sexism, racism, homophobia, and fatphobia that limit mental well-being. My focus is on creating a liberating space where clients can feel seen and safe enough to engage with vulnerability. In return, I present as my most authentic self through disclosure and direct communication to dispel potential power differentials and foster a strong therapeutic relationship.

Regardless of age or presentations, I am humbled when people trust me with their emotions, identities, and life experiences. It is truly an honor to be a therapist.
