Mary "Alta" Feddeman (she/they), MSW, LCSWA

Outpatient Psychotherapist in North Durham

Works with ages 18+

My name is Alta, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) providing in-person therapy in North Durham. I am passionate about working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, family of origin struggles, self-esteem issues, religious trauma, life transitions, and identity exploration. My therapeutic work is informed by queer theory, feminist theory, psychoanalytic theory, and a commitment to anti-racist practice.

It takes immense courage to look inward and explore our well worn patterns with a therapist. I aim to honor that courage in every session, walking alongside you as we examine your unique experiences, relationships, values, and goals for change. My style is warm, genuine, and collaborative. I take an integrative approach to psychodynamic relational therapy that combines elements of mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychoanalysis.

When I’m not seeing clients, I’m usually sharing meals with friends, taking walks by the river, getting excited about a piece of art, or spending time with my two cats.

If you think we may be a good fit, I invite you to contact me at alta@threeoaksbehavioralhealth.com.
