Nuri Mendoza (they/she), MSW, LCSWA

Outpatient Psychotherapist in Midtown Raleigh

Hi! My name is Nuri Mendoza (they/she), and I am thrilled to be an outpatient psychotherapist at Three Oaks. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA). I earned my B.S in Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and my Master’s in Social Work at Columbia University.

I use a variety of modalities in session, such as, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness and Person-Centered.

In addition to using evidence-based approaches, I love to bring in creative and supporting approaches such as movement, tarot, mindfulness - almost anything you wish - into the healing process. In my practice, therapy is a collaborative approach. I firmly believe there is no greater expert on you than you!

As a queer person of color, I am deeply committed to creating spaces that are LGBTQIA+ affirming and anti-racist. I bring my values of transformative and restorative justice, anti-oppression and disability justice to my work. I strive to create a warm, collaborative and nonjudgmental space for healing and self-discovery.

I enjoy working with clients with marginalized identities, in particular BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, im/migrants and neurodiverse folx. I also enjoy working with clients who are navigating identity issues, whether cultural and gender; clients navigating major life transitions, or individuals seeking to strengthen their coping skills.

If you think we would be a good fit, I would be honored to be a part of your healing journey.
