Rebekah Barker (she/her), MSW, LCSWA
Outpatient Psychotherapist at Garner
Works with ages 18+
Hi there! I'm Rebekah Barker (she/her), LCSWA, and an Outpatient Psychotherapist in our Garner office. I earned my Master of Social Work from North Carolina State University.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that there is a story behind every struggle. Rather than approaching ourselves with judgment, I believe healing begins with curiosity, self-compassion, and a deeper understanding of our experiences.
I enjoy working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, grief, and the pressure to "hold it all together” amidst life’s many challenges. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals with chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, invisible illnesses, as well as those navigating women's and reproductive health concerns. Whether you're living with a new diagnosis, coping with unexplained symptoms, caring for a loved one, or navigating imperfect healthcare systems, therapy can be a place to process those experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and sustainable.
My work is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques, while always tailoring my approach to your unique needs and goals.
Whether you're grieving the life you expected to be living, navigating a difficult transition, feeling overwhelmed, or simply longing to better understand yourself, you don't have to figure it out alone. It would be my privilege to walk alongside you in that process.
