Samantha Greenwell (she/her), LCSW
Outpatient Psychotherapist in Garner
works with ages 18+
Hello! My name is Sam Greenwell (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Michigan State University and my Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. I have over five years of experience in the mental health field, working across a range of settings including inpatient and community mental health for those with severe and persistent mental illness, outpatient services, and hospital-based trauma care.
I enjoy working with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional dysregulation. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals as they reconnect with themselves, build self-compassion, set healthy boundaries, and learn to manage the stressors life throws their way.
My approach to therapy is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I integrate mindfulness practices and holistic strategies that focus on the whole person. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to help clients better understand themselves and gain practical tools for daily life.
I believe that therapy should be a safe, affirming space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow. You don’t have to go through life’s challenges alone, I'm here to walk beside you as we work toward healing and meaningful change.
In my free time, I enjoy spending quiet moments with my husband and our two cats, tending to my numerous houseplants, recharging in nature, and practicing self-care.
