Anne Sylla, LCMHCA

Outpatient Psychotherapist in South Durham

Feeling lonely, uncertain, anxious, and that life is not turning out how you thought it would at work or at home? Do you have something on your mind that is causing you to lose sleep and impacts your daily functioning? Are you interested in exploring what might bring more satisfaction and contentment? Talking with a therapist in a confidential, safe environment can bring clarity & calmness to complex, swirling thoughts, and provide tools to support you in building a more meaningful life that is aligned with your values.

I am experienced with a variety of techniques that can be tailored to support you in your life’s journey. I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds as well as teenagers experiencing challenging life situations that result in stress, anxiety, depression, and other suffering, and who desire greater awareness, purposeful growth, skills development, and change. My counseling style is thoughtful, compassionate, and practical.

In our first meeting you will have the opportunity to talk about the concerns you are experiencing as well as the history of the problem. At the end of the meeting you will be able to ask questions and hear my ideas about how to develop solutions to your concerns.

I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate in the state of North Carolina (LCMHCA #A17728) working as an outpatient psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in the South Durham office. I completed my graduate counseling training at NC State University (M.Ed. in College Counseling and Student Development) and a clinical counseling internship at the NC State Counseling Center where I developed my skills in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques as well as career counseling. I also have an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from New York University. Before becoming a full-time counselor I worked in a variety of management, consulting, and other business & IT roles.  In my free time, I enjoy my family, reading, learning new things, and exploring.

If you are curious to learn more about counseling with me, please reach out to schedule a brief phone consultation.  You may also want to review our FAQ page for fee and insurance information. For sessions, I can meet you virtually or in-person in the South Durham location.
