Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Raleigh. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development & Family Studies and holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University. Melanie is also a Level 2 Certified Gottman's Couples Therapist.
Melanie is trained to work with individuals, couples, teens, and groups. Her areas of expertise include relational/parenting issues, self-esteem, life transitions, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, and career counseling. She is also a LGBTQIA+ ally. Melanie utilizes a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy, and believes that the success of counseling revolves around building a collaborative relationship focused on trust, openness, and mutual respect. She aspires to create a safe, non-judgmental space where each of her clients feel heard, accepted, and empowered to create personalized goals to reach their full potential. Melanie draws therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
In her spare time, Melanie enjoys interior decorating, reading, getting outside, exercising, and having game nights with friends and family.
