Pressley Cox (she/her), LCMHC, LCAS

Director of Clinical Care;
Outpatient Psychotherapist in North Raleigh

Works with ages 20+

My name is Pressley and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (14937), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (25486), Director of Clinical Care, and an Outpatient Psychotherapist in North Raleigh. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University and my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University.

My approach to therapy focuses on the inherent wholeness of each client. I hold the belief that every person has the innate ability to live a deeply meaningful life, and my goal as a therapist is to assist in the discovery of what this looks like for each person I work with.

Using radical acceptance, parts work, values-based work, skill-building, mindfulness techniques, and somatic practices in sessions, I aim to help clients reconnect back to themselves. My therapeutic style is rooted in curiosity and incorporates a few different evidenced-based practices, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Above all, I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, as I see it as the foundation of healing. It is my goal to ensure that each client feels safe, supported, and understood.

I am passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing concerns with anxiety, depression, general life transitions, relationship concerns, OCD, addiction, and trauma. I also find value in working with individuals who simply want to learn how to more effectively achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and work with adults ages 20 and older.
