Sarah Beth Bailes

Clinical Intern, University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill

Sarah Beth Bailes is a Clinical Social Work intern at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Durham. While counseling during her internship, Sarah Beth will be under the clinical supervision of  Leah Sampson, MSW, LCSW.  She received her undergraduate Social Work degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and is currently working towards her Master of Social Work degree at the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill.

Sarah Beth works from a strengths-based, solution-focused approach. She recognizes the importance of the therapeutic alliance and the impact that the therapist-client relationship has on treatment outcomes, so she strives to create a non-judgmental space that encourages the exploration of emotions with curiosity and compassion. Sarah Beth is passionate about seeing healing and freedom in the lives of her clients—she is not the one doing the healing work; instead, she empowers her clients with the tools that they need to heal themselves. She is deeply committed to sitting in the deepest depths with someone for as long as it takes them to wrestle towards their freedom and wholeness.

Sarah Beth has social work experience with both teens and adults in a variety of settings, including a youth crisis shelter and residential substance abuse facility for women. She is passionate about working with teens and young adults to find freedom from eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and substance use. She utilizes approaches from an eclectic array of evidence-based treatment models including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She is LGBTQIA+ friendly, committed to anti-racist work, and operates from a Health at Every Size approach.
