Sarah (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA-P016245) and Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Durham. She received her undergraduate degree from in Social Work Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and received her Master of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work in Chapel Hill, NC.

Sarah works from a strengths-based, solution-focused approach. She recognizes the importance of the therapeutic alliance and the impact that the therapist-client relationship has on treatment outcomes, so she strives to create an non-judgmental space that encourages exploration of emotions with curiosity and compassion. Sarah is passionate about seeing healing and freedom in the lives of her clients—she is not the one doing the healing work; instead, she empowers her clients with the tools that they need to heal themselves. She is deeply committed to sitting in the deepest depths with someone for as long as it takes them to wrestle towards their freedom and wholeness.

Sarah has experience with both teens and adults in a variety of settings, including a youth crisis shelter and residential substance abuse facility for women. She is passionate about working with teens and young adults to find freedom from eating disorders, church trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. She utilizes approaches from an eclectic array of evidence-based treatment models including: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. She is LGBTQIA+ friendly, committed to anti-racist work, and operates from a Health at Every Size approach.
