Clinical Intern, Campbell University
My name is Ben Yarborough and I am joining Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness as a graduate student intern, receiving supervision while finishing my last year of graduate school in the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Campbell University. While counseling during my internship, I will be under the clinical supervision of Sara Crow, MEd, LCMHC, NCC. I am a native of Raleigh, and received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado, Denver in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Criminal Justice. I returned to school after working a number of years in law enforcement.
I believe that therapy best begins with a judgement free environment, empathy and trust. I find it important to meet the client where they are now & work together to create a unique counseling plan. In part due to my previous work experience. I have interests in Critical Incident Stress Management, Trauma, Depression, and Anxiety; especially with first responders and medical personnel. From personal experience, I specialize in working with individuals experiencing grief, sudden traumatic loss and loss of a spouse. I enjoy working with a great variety of individuals and am LGBTQ+ affirming and supportive. I believe in a relaxed therapeutic approach to help support individuals and promote self empowerment.
My services are offered on a sliding scale. I look forward to hearing from you!
